Mira Arad - Filmmaker & Visual Artist !
Mira established 'Sea of Art Productions' in 2004 to bring filmmakers and
musicians together as a means of promoting peace and tolerant ideas, and
celebrating the art of creation !
In 2004 Mira released her first documentary: ' A Film about Zen' nominated
for an Israeli Oscar, participated in international film festivals and broadcast on
various TV channels.
Her short documentary 'Piris Eliyahu' won 2nd place award for Best
Documentary Film at the
International Folk Music Film Festival in Nepal
(2011).
For the last few years Mira has traveled and worked in Africa and
Asia
extensively and has been involved in numerous film projects
including the
Grammy-nominated '1 Giant Leap' (UK).
Mira is highly experienced professionally and personally, working on
projects with subject matter specialized in developing countries in South
Asia.
Mira lived in Nepal and India from 2007 - 2014 collaborating with Indian
and Nepali filmmakers and musicians, doing visuals in live music concerts
and festivals and working on film projects such as:
'Supreme Love'- producer and
director of documentary, shooting in India.
'Project: Locker room'- researcher & camerawoman in Nepal.
'Not Your Life'- camerawoman in Nepal.
'Eye Camp by Israeli Doctors in Nepal'- director & camerawoman in Nepal.
Education:
Bachelor of Fine Arts from 'Bezalel' Academy of Art &Design, Jerusalem.
Persian & Mediterranean music with the musicologist Piris Eliyahu.
Winner of America-Israel Cultural foundation scholarship
and 'Snunit Fund', of The 2nd Television Authority (Israel).
